So happy to share that I will be part of Rotterdam Photo Festival from February 9th to 12th during Art Week Rotterdam.
This year's theme is #freedomredefined and I am more than grateful that my series "Forty Plus" has been selected for this event. Last edition I was amazed by the work and creativity of fellow photographers but also so moved by the reaction I received by the people who came to see my series "Hemicrania-Disambiguation" and to listen to my artist talk.
Rotterdam Photo is raw, pure and authentic, you won't receive champagne and petits-fours by the entrance but you will definitely feel the warmth and passion of all the people who made this happen.

“Forty Plus”documents and conceptualizes feminine sensuality above forty years old. It is a delicate visual journey through the author's intime wardrobe mixed with botanical elements as a metaphoric representation of the feminine gaze; an ode to femininity and sensuality, an invitation to see and embrace beauty in all its manifestation and imperfection.

“Forty Plus” is a delicate visual journey through Carole Rey's intime wardrobe mixed with botanical elements as a metaphoric representation of the feminine gaze and the cycle of life. Liberated from their upbringing and from the expectations of a patriarchal society, 40+ women become often forgotten, as if invisible. This image is an ode to maturity, feminine sensuality, to see and embrace beauty in all its manifestation and imperfection.
